Atapuerca

The Sierra is a small mountainous area located north of Ibeas de Juarros, in the province of Burgos. It extends from northwest to southeast, between the Cantabrian Mountain Range and the Iberian System. It has been declared a Natural Area of Interest, a Site of Cultural Interest, and a World Heritage Site due to the exceptional archaeological and paleontological findings it contains.
